The Basket Room Busunu Natural Woven Shopping Basket, Small

The Basket Room Busunu natural woven shopping basket is the stylish and sustainable way to carry home your market finds. Every shopping basket is crafted from veta vera grass, a variety that grows locally in the wilds of Ghana. Once woven, this grass is incredibly robust and durable – you’ll be using your basket for years to come. With a double handle, this bag is comfortable to hold and carry, whether you’re popping to the shops or strolling around a farmers’ market. The small size of this bag makes it ideal for carrying fruit and vegetables. 

Each of these shopping baskets is handwoven in Northern Ghana by men who have been taught the skill by their mothers and fathers. Basket-weaving provides farmers with a second income during the dry season when it’s not always possible to make money from the land.

This small basket measures approximately 28cm x 33cm x 19cm.
