Terre Exotique Zaatar Seasoning 500g

Terre Exotique’s zaatar – also known as zatar, zahtar, and za’atar – seasoning brings a lemony zing to flatbreads, marinades and hummus. Originating in Byblos, Lebanon, this spice mix is made with just five ingredients, with golden sesame bringing a nutty tang and a citrusy kick from sumac.

Aromatic and slightly salty, this Middle Eastern seasoning is traditionally served with olive oil as a dipping sauce for bread. Alternatively, sprinkle over labneh, or follow Yotam Ottolenghi’s lead and use it as an alternative for black pepper when making indulgent cacio e pepe.

The company was founded by Erwann de Kerros, a Breton and seasoned traveller. After tasting pepper in the Penja plantation in Cameroon, Kerros yearned to try other specialist peppers and spices – and Terre Exotique was born.
