Flor de sal is a gourmet finishing salt harvested by hand in the Ria Formosa, a coastal lagoon in the Algarve region of Portugal. It has a delicate, flaky texture – ideal for sprinkling over steaks, fish and salads. It has a high moisture content so it melts slower than standard sea salt.
