This professional natural food colouring is perfect for sweet and savoury foods alike. It’s water-soluble, but the powdered consistency of the colouring means that it doesn’t further dilute wet mixtures.
The natural red colouring is perfect for enhancing the colour of a velvet sponge cake. Also use it to impart a delicate strawberry-red hue to blancmanges, macarons, meringues and even pasta dough. The natural red food colour can also be mixed with a little water, and used to paint patterns onto royal icing when decorating cakes.
Use 0.2-4g of natural red food colouring per kilo of other ingredients, depending on the desired intensity. If adding to a wet mixture, dilute in a small quantity of warm water first.
Natural food colourings may have a slight flavour to them due to the natural plant ingredients imparting the colour, so we recommend using sparingly – they’re best for creating beautiful pale colours. For brighter and darker colours see our Intense range.
