The Messermeister Oliva Luxe Santoku knife is a great multi-purpose knife for all-round kitchen preparation. A Japanese chef’s knife, this versatile knife has a larger blade that rounds to a point more abruptly than a traditional western chef’s knife. This makes for a powerful blade to tackle larger meat and vegetables but still maintain a sharper tip for precision and accuracy.

Messermeister’s Oliva Luxe knives are made of a high carbon 1.4116 stainless steel, which makes them incredibly durable and resistant to corrosion. 

• Made in Solingen, Germany which is world-renowned for quality stainless steel, these blades range a high of 57-58 on the Rockwell hardness sale to withstand the demands of professional kitchens and bakeries. 
• The Santoku knife is made of a single fully-forged and hammered piece of steel, which produces a strong blade all the way from heel to tip. 
• The knife is half bolstered, meaning a sharper edge can easily be maintained for the full length of the blade when sharpening. It also makes for a more comfortable and smoother cut. 
• Edges are sharpened at a 15 degree angle by hand, to ensure the sharpest possible surface.

The Oliva range is named after the beautiful polished Italian olive wood handles the knives are made from, which have a sleek, smooth finish. 

This knife is not dishwasher safe. Hand wash in warm water and avoid cleaners containing citrus and beach to protect the delicate wood. We advise you regularly oil the wood handle with food safe mineral or rapeseed oil to prevent splitting and protect the wooden finish.
