Mayata’s signature Congo Okapi 45% milk chocolate couverture is the silkiest milk chocolate you will taste. Made from Forastero cocoa beans, it is creamy and smooth, with central flavours of hazelnut and caramel. Subtle notes of vanilla, cashew and sweet cherry linger as this chocolate melts effortless in the mouth. It is the ultimate in luxury milk chocolate – perfect for sauces, ganache or any indulgent dessert.
These couverture drops are extra-small which means they melt effortlessly and with the glossiest finish. They are ideal for both in professional kitchens and home bakers. Whip into an indulgent chocolate mousse, bake into gooey cookies or drizzle over elegant Pâtisseries.Â
The cocoa beans in this milk chocolate are grown in Mungamba, Congo by the Okapi co-operative. This initiative combines producing great tasting cocoa with fighting the region’s on-going issue – deforestation. The co-operative has formed a ring around the endangered reserve to ensure it protects the land, its wildlife and is used for sustainable crops. This also means it can control every aspect of the production process, and hence why it is becoming so renowned for the finest quality chocolate.Â

About Mayata
Mayata make chocolate like no other. They produce the finest and purest chocolate from hand-selected cocoa beans, sourced across Asia, Africa and the Americas. Cocoa beans have a rich spectrum of flavour and aromas, each variety being unique. It is this deep-rooted understanding and awareness of these qualities that sets Mayata’s chocolatiers apart.Â
Their cocoa is carefully processed, to preserve the individual flavours of each bean. Low and slowly roasting reduces bitterness, before the crushed beans are combined with a perfect balance of cocoa mass. Mayata treat chocolate as an art, which you can taste in every bite.Â
